Veronika Zeil is a visual artist based in Rockhampton, Central Queensland.

Her work is varied, including water colour, acrylics, mosaic work and sculpture as well as creative writing.

She likes to produce vibrant images of fauna and flora, impressions of the Central Queensland rural lifestyle as well as works reflecting on the landscape and natural environment.

Artist Statement

Painting, mosaic work and writing are my passion. I use a range of materials and techniques to communicate my impressions and interpretations of the landscape and natural environment to the viewer of the artwork. I like to experiment with organic and manmade materials as well as recycle found object in assemblages. I love the process of collecting materials, images and ideas outdoors, arranging fragments by colour and texture, reviving memories through sketches and writing down impressions and finally responding by painting, assembling or writing.

The process allows me to reflect on and express my view on our country, our culture and our lifestyle.
